This article includes steps to resolve error code 1170000. Receiving error 1170000 means that Xbox Live couldn't sign in and usually means that there's an update available or Xbox Live services are down. Here are some steps to help:
Android/iOS
- Check for updates. These can be found in the store app on your device.
- Check Xbox Live Status https://beta.support.xbox.com/xbox-live-status to ensure all services are ‘normal’.
- Launch the Xbox app to verify that you're logged in.
- iOS: Xbox on the App Store (apple.com)
- Android: Xbox - Apps on Google Play
- Launch the game. If an error code box pops up do not click ‘try again’ or ‘cancel’ – just close and relaunch the app.
- Once relaunched there should be a pop up that says “{game} wants to use xboxlive.com to sign in’. Click ‘continue’. This should launch the Xbox live web page.
- Click ‘Sign in’. Sign in on this screen or click ‘continue’ if your information is already saved. This will bring up your Xbox Live profile.
- Click ‘Let’s Play!’.
