What are Checkpoints?
Once you reach levels 10, 20, and 30, you will set yourself up with a Checkpoint. Each Checkpoint will save your highest score, Fireball Counts, and Move Counts. This allows you to start a new game at any of these Checkpoints with your highest Fireball and Move Counts. You can go back and try to increase each stat and try to complete the game/get the highest score you can.
What are Fireballs?
You can use Fireballs to remove any piece from the board.
Fireballs are earned by completing missions during the game. When you complete a Fireball mission the maximum number of Fireballs you can have will increase. You will also add a Fireball to your inventory.
Earning Fireballs
-
- Players can complete Missions to earn more Fireballs.
- When a player completes a Mission, their max number of Fireballs will increase.
- They will also get an active Fireball that is ready to be used.
Example: If the player has 2 of 5 Fireballs and earns a new Fireball, they will now have 3 of 6.
-
- The max number of Fireballs can never decrease.
Using Fireballs
-
- If the player has a Fireball ready to use, the player clicks on the Fireball button.
- The Fireball button will change to an active state (noticeable in color & style).
- The screen will darken everything but the Fireball button and the game board.
- A “target” cursor will follow the mouse pointer/player’s finger to show exactly what piece the player is removing.
- The player can click anywhere outside the board to cancel the Fireball launch.
Damage
A Fireball will remove any piece from the board, no matter the Blocker type or strength.
Example: If player uses a Fireball to remove a Stone blocker with a number of hit points on it (ie: 2), the fireball will remove the entire Stone blocker to open that space.
What are the different power-ups and what do they do?
Line Clear
When you match a cluster of 7-10 gems, you will create a Line Clear Power-Up.
The Line Clear Power-Up clears 13 gems horizontally or vertically.
Bomb
When you match a cluster of 11-14 gems, you will create a Bomb Power-Up.
Once you create and click on the Bomb Power-Up, it will clear 2 rings of gems around it.
Color Clears
When you match a cluster of 15+ gems, you will create a Color Clear.
Once you create and click on the Color Clear, it will eliminate all the same colored Gems from the board, including itself.
What are the different Blockers and how do I remove them?
Blockers are obstacles placed on the board that you need to remove before continuing to the next level.
Wood
To remove Wood, match a cluster of Gems next to them. Wood cascades down the board when Gems below it are extracted.
Plants
To remove Plants, match a cluster of Gems next to them. When you remove Gems under them, Plants stay in place. This causes empty spaces in the board.
Stones
Stones are like Plants but the only way to remove them is to hit them with a Power-Up.
Bubbles
Bubbles go on top of Gems and Blockers. To remove the Bubble, you need to remove the Gem or Blockers that it sits on first.
Example: clicking to remove the cluster of purple gems in the image below, will remove the purple gems and pop the bubbles on both the purple gem and the Plant blocker.
